Child Safe School
Clyde Primary School is a child safe school. This means that we are committed to the safety and wellbeing of all of our students. All schools in Victoria are required to comply with Department of Education Child Safe Standards. These Child Safe standards aim to protect children from all forms of abuse. For further information on the Clyde Primary School Child Safe Policy please refer to our Clyde PS website.
Staff at Clyde Primary School are also required to complete mandatory reporting professional development annually. All staff are mandated to report suspected abuse. If you have a concern regarding the safety of a child you can discuss this with your classroom teacher or phone the school to set a meeting with Hayley Taylor, Wellbeing Leader. Additionally, our Mandatory Reporting Policy is also on the Clyde PS website for future reference.
Congratulations to our latest Principal’s Award recipients…
Ethan – Foundation C – for using letters and sounds, finger spaces and common sight words in his description writing.
Erica – 1/2F – for following our Golden Rules, going above and beyond to help other members of our grade understand their tasks and helping to keep her teacher organised.
Hezekiah – 3/4A – for continuously challenging himself in all areas of his learning. Hezekiah uses his learning time well and seeks and applies feedback to improve his work. Well done Hezekiah.
Angelina – 5/6C – for consistently working hard on her exposition writing and mastering the TEEL structure for her body paragraphs.
These students enjoyed their lunch with Mrs Pratt on Thursday 19th April.
Congratulations to Foundation D who won the attendance trophy for Term 1. I wonder who will win the trophy for term 2?
Just a reminder that students are expected to attend school each day unless they are ill. If you child is away please ensure you notify the school via Flexibuzz before 9.30am on the day they are absent. Department guidelines state that every absence requires an explanation. As of Monday 30th April parents will start receiving an automatic SMS if their child is marked absent and if the absence has not been explained. This will provide parents with a prompt to complete the Flexibuzz. If you have any concerns regarding attendance please see your classroom teacher or Hayley Taylor, Wellbeing Leader for assistance.
Just a reminder also that if you are going on holidays to let your child’s teacher know in writing at least two weeks prior to the holiday. It is a requirement that an absence learning plan is set for students who are on holidays for three days or longer.
Thank you for reading our newsletter. Our next edition should be available at the early May.
