Principal’s Report

End of Term 2

A huge thank you to all our school community for the support and positive messages throughout a very difficult and challenging term for everyone. I wish our students, parents and staff a safe and restful holiday break and look forward to seeing everyone back on Monday, 13th July. A reminder that now is not the time for complacency regarding Covid-19 There is no charge for COVID-19 testing  – any symptoms, however mild, get tested –  Link to DHHS testing – https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/getting-tested-coronavirus-covid-19 If you don’t have a Medicare card you can still get tested for COVID-19 – https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/getting-tested-coronavirus-covid-19 Keep yourself, your friends and family safe these school holidays – https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/how-stay-safe-and-well-covid-19 Until further notice, our timetable will remain the same in Term 3. Exit times and locations will also remain the same for the beginning of Term 3. Please refer to the updated ‘Return to Learning at School Parent and Carers Handbook’.

A reminder that if your child is tested for COVID-19, they must stay at home until the results are received. Please keep the school informed of your child’s result.

Important Information on the Flexibuzz App

This week we were informed by Flexibuzz administration department that due to the COVID 19 Pandemic, the Flexibuzz application currently being used will cease to operate on the 30th June. As a result of this we have decided to bring forward our timeline to streamline our communication methods. From this Friday, parents will be able to use the Sentral Parent Portal to receive newsfeed items, respond to messages from class teachers and provide permission for excursions. This is in addition to families using the portal to access student reports, documents and to update attendance. It is very important that all families who have not already created a Parent Portal account and linked their enrolled child/ children to their account, do so.

All communication that came through Flexibuzz will now be distributed through the Sentral newsfeed.

Education Perfect During our time as a school in Remote Learning, our 5/6 students continued to utilise the Education Perfect online learning platform. Education Perfect enables students to focus on learning at home, providing structured lessons suitable for both the classroom and individual learning. These lessons start with introductory slides, so students gain a good understanding of the topic before it’s taught. Rich images and videos break down difficult concepts and give students a thorough understanding of the topic. The resource has been successfully implemented in over a thousand schools from around the world, with notable impacts on student motivation and grades. Students gain points for every question they answer, they can therefore compete against their friends in a fun, educational and safe environment at their own pace. To further enhance engagement, Education Perfect conducts an annual English Championship that runs for one week and students from all over the world actively compete against each other and represent their school. Clyde Primary School competed exceptionally well this year, and considering so many more students were accessing the online platform as a part of their Remote Learning, our achievements in this Championships are even more impressive.

Here’s a rundown of our school’s achievements:
