Activity Date: Monday 16th December 2019
Years involved: All students (F-6) are involved in the swimming carnival.
Curriculum Focus: Students practise and use complex manipulative and locomotor skills in a range of movement environments including aquatic. Students will demonstrate fundamental movement and safety skills in water.
Venue: Doveton Pool in the Park. 64 Tristania Street, Doveton Victoria 3177
Transportation: Students will be traveling by bus to the venue. All buses will be seat belted for the safety of our students.
Time: All students are to be in their classroom by 9am. Buses will be leaving at 9.15am. Students will return to school by 3.15pm. The first event is scheduled for 10am.
Cost per child: $14 (This can be paid using CSEF, QKR or at the office with cash or Eftpos)
Due Date: Monday the 9th of December

Permission Form: Please complete a permission form in FlexiBuzz. Click on the pencil icon (signed permission) in the tool bar at the top. When completing the form please type – The Event/Activity title as Swimming Carnival
What to wear: Students can come dressed in their house colours. Students are required to follow our Sun Smart policy by wearing a rash vest or t-shirt while swimming. They also need to be wearing a wide brim hat (school hat) and sunscreen when out of the water. Please also make sure ALL clothing, shoes and towels are clearly named.
What to bring:
• Sunscreen will be available for students on the day, however if you would prefer your child to use their own, please make sure it is named and packed in their bag.
• Snack, lunch and water bottle. There will be NO canteen available on the day.
• Towel, goggles, bathers and rash vest/T-shirt
Parent helpers required: If any parents are interested in helping at the event, please let Mrs Bevis know as soon as possible.
Foundation to Year 2 students will only be involved in activities in the learner’s pool (waist high water) and will have floatation devices available to them.
Year 3-6 students will have the opportunity to swim in races of 25m Freestyle, Backstroke and Breaststroke.
At the end of the swimming carnival, students will have the opportunity to play on the giant water slide.
Parents are more than welcome to come and watch on the day.
